Ametria Rugalach lives a peaceful and carefree lifestyle while dreaming of becoming her boyfriend, Silas Havier’s, eistah. Eistahs are half-human and half-spirit beings that can become swords to eliminate the threats of arisa since they fear the light. Arisa is a mist-shrouded skeletal, crumbled beings who live off negative black energy called nenets. Ametria has known Silas and her best friend, Elaina Gilberta, since childhood, but everything changed for the worse one evening. Silas and Ametria start dating secretly, but their midnight meetup catches the eye of traveling knights, who warn Ametria’s older brother, Caius. Caius ensures they’ll never see each other again, but Ametria persists. It’s their final date before everything falls.

Silas disappears for several hours one stormy evening before returning for his final meal with Ametria. Ametria has caught on to his act, but it’s too late. While possessed by Felix Hieraltis, the businessman everyone loves to hate, Silas murders Elaina. Felix has captured Silas to use Elaina as bait to awaken the beast that hides with Ametria called Calaveras. Felix, Isaac Hoff, and Silas flee and leave Ametria and Elaina to be rescued by the Imperial Asfli Army. Ametria doesn’t get to see Silas for another three years. When Ametria meets Calyx Shekel, she develops a massive crush on him. He, too, has an intense hatred for Felix for setting up the murder of his family, and they form a quick bond.

Can Felix be stopped before he destroys the Four Great Houses? The Hoffs have always felt weak compared to the infamous houses known as the Rugalachs, Shekels, and Veghars. Felix abused his power to eliminate the Shekels, allowing the Hoffs to move up on the totem pole. These four houses have an essential role and are well-loved by the King of Naphordi, King Ulises. The Hoffs never felt appreciated, even though they were chosen to watch over society by the King. With Calaveras now awake, Ametria’s gravaetis can exploit her emotions if she doesn’t train. A gravaetis is a being once an arisa, but their lost souls are transferred to weapons they have previously used in battle with their memories lost.

Will Ametria be able to move on and start a new life before becoming an arisa? Or, with Silas’s unexpected arrival, will she lose control and unleash havoc on those who dare harm anyone close?
